President of Asian Shooting Confederation pays a visit to Uzbekistan

H.E. Shaikh Ali Bin Abdulla Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC) along with officials of ASC Headquarters visited Uzbekistan to inspect the construction site and development progress of the new shooting range in Uzbekistan.


On the sidelines of the visit to Uzbekistan and inspection of ranges the delegation has held a meeting with Mr. Oybek Kosimov, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Uzbekistan, Mr. Murodjon Aliev first Vice-Minister of the sports affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, where Mr. Rustam Eminjanov, President of the Shooting Sport Federation of Uzbekistan and Mr. Jaloliddin Atabullaev, Secretary General were also present.

Delegates were introduced to the new state of the art facilities, visited the museum of the NOC as well as Republic Medical Center for athletes, which is conveniently located within the NOC complex.


ASC delegates were briefed about the development of sports in Uzbekistan, where directives have been issued by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “to promote the sports among youth generation”. In accordance with the instructions of the President, a detailed “step-by-step program” for Youth athletes was created where 14 Olympic sports colleges opened in the recent years such as high sports mastering schools, Institute of Physical culture and the faculties of each regional University, where athletes can study and improve their skills.      


Much attention is paid to the construction of the stadiums, sports complexes, and specifically designated sport bases. One of the designated sport centers is a state of the art “Shooting Complex”, which is being constructed in Tashkent region of Uzbekistan. Later this day, the ASC delegation visited the construction site and where proposals and opinions were shared.

H.E. Shaikh Ali Bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and the ASC delegates have witnessed that the shooting sport, as one of the Olympic sports, is in priority in Uzbekistan and that the Sport Shooting Federation of Uzbekistan works closely with the Government and Sports Institutes of the country to develop and promote shooting.


The leadership of the Sports Ministry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Olympic Committee and the Sport Shooting Federation of Uzbekistan was highly honored and pleased with the visit of H.E. Shaikh Ali Bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and the ASC delegates where further mutual cooperation in order to promote and develop shooting sports in Uzbekistan and in the Continent as a whole was agreed.
