Opening Ceremony of the 9th Asian Youth Training Camp 2023 - Kuwait

In 2023, the Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC) completes its 10th series of Asian Youth Training and Coaching Camp. The 9th Asian Youth Training Camp and Coaching Course TRAP/PISTOL began today (Saturday 11st February 2023) at Sheikh Sabah AlAhmad Olympic Shooting Complex Kuwait. Both the 9th and 10th Asian Youth Training Camps were sponsored by the International Shooting Sport Federations (ISSF) Development Fund and hosted by Kuwait Shooting Federation (KSF).

The opening ceremony was attended by H.E. Sheikh Salman AlSabah (ASC President) and Mr. Ahmad Nedal AlSayed Omar (ASC Manager). The ASC President welcomed all athletes and coaches and expressed his happiness to see the high number of participants. Addtionally, H.E. Sheikh Salman also thanked the ISSF for their financial support through the ISSF Development Fund, sponsoring the the Asian Youth Training Camps, and appreciates the efforts done by Mr. Luciano Rossi (ISSF President) and Mr. Willi Grill (ISSF Secretary General). Moreover, the ASC President expressed his gratitude to H.E. Eng. Duaij AlOtaibi (KSF President) and H.E. Obaid AlOsaimi (KSF Secretary General), the ASC Head Quarter and all whom helped organizing the training camp.

It is worth noting that a total of 67 participants is attending the 9th Asian Youth Training Camp from 21 Asian federations. The camp is scheduled from 10th - 18th February 2023 and instructed by Coach Mr.Mirco Cenci for Trap, Mr. Gennady Solodovnikov from Kuwait, and Mr. Danielle Dipinio from Italy. On the 1st day, Instructors gave an introduction about the overall expectations of the camp and briefed all participants on the Individual Training Plan. Participants had a physical training session and practical shooting at the 10m range and training athlete for the coaches. Additionally, this camp will also cover other aspects of learning courses such as Sport Psychology by Dr. Ahmad Alqallaf and Sports Training Science by Dr. Abdullah AlMahmeed, which are both professors from Public Authority of Applied Education and Technology. Also, an Anti-doping course from Kuwait Anti-doping agency will be given to all participants.

The Asian Youth Training Camp is an annual event that takes places on selected shooting sport disciplines. The ASC in cooperation with Kuwait Shooting Federation have organized these camps with a sole aim to encourage and improve the skills of youth athletes in Asia to elevate the shooting sport standard to a higher level for all Asian member federations to win more medals for their countries and to uplift the name of the Asia continent in upcoming shooting Championships.
