China Dominates Opening Day of 53rd ISSF World Championship with Golds in 10m Air Pistol Men's and Women's Events

The 53rd ISSF World Championship, featuring a gathering of marksmen from around the world, kicked off on August 15th, 2023. The event was inaugurated by H.E. Luciano Rossi, President of the ISSF, and H.E. Willi Grill, Secretary General of the ISSF.

With the participation of 1249 athletes hailing from 101 nations, competing across 2378 different disciplines, this championship promises to be display of skill and sportsmanship. During the event, 16 quota places will be distributed per discipline, totaling 48 quota places across the 15 Olympic finals.

On the first day of finals, organizers treated spectators to two exhilarating events: the Men's 10m Air Pistol and the Women's 10m Air Pistol with the following results.

1st Final 10m Air Pistol men results as follows:

Gold Medal -Medal ZHANG Bowen (CHN)

Silver Medal - Mikec Domir (SRB)

Bronze Medal - Kirov Kirill (BUL)

2nd Final of the day 10m Air Pistol Women results as follows:

Gold Medal - Jian Ranxin (CHN)

Silver Medal - Korakaki Anna (GRE)

Bronze Medal - Li Xue (CHN).

The Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC) extended its heartfelt congratulations to all athletes, recognizing their exceptional achievements and contributions to the sport.
