The Opening Ceremony of the Asian Rifle/Pistol Cup 2025 took place today, marking the official commencement of the prestigious competition. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of H.E. Sheikh Salman AlSabah, President of the Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC), along with other distinguished guests and officials.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, H.E. Sakon Wannapong, President of the National Shooting Sport Association of Thailand (NSSAT), and Mrs. Sopittsara Tippayamonton, Secretary General of NSSAT, were also present. Their participation highlighted Thailand’s strong commitment to the development of shooting sports.
Other notable attendees included Dr. Nedal AlAsem, Board Member of the Kuwait Shooting Federation, Mr. Abdulla AlHammadi, Chairman of the ASC Technical and Judges Committee, and Ms. Intan Megafany, Technical Delegate of the Asian Rifle/Pistol Cup 2025. Team officials and athletes from 23 Asian Federation were also in attendance, demonstrating the event’s prominence in the shooting sports calendar.
During the opening speech ASC President, extended its gratitude to the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) for its continuous support to the development of Olympic shooting sports, particularly in the Asian continent. Under the keen leadership of ISSF President H.E. Luciano Rossi.
A special appreciation goes to the Organizing Committee, Technical Delegate Ms. Intan Megafany, and the National Shooting Sport Association of Thailand for their outstanding efforts in preparing the shooting ranges and facilities to host this prestigious competition.
This year’s competition is set to be highly competitive, with shooters from 23 Asian federations participating in over 640 starts and competing for a total of 224 medals. The Asian Rifle/Pistol Cup 2025 promises to be a rewarding experience for all participants, including athletes, juries, delegates, and the organizing committee.
