The organization, which is currently open only to members of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), the Ministry of the Interior and the National Guard, began in 1997 as a small shooting club. By 2001 it had developed into a national organization and in 2004 sent its first Pistol Shooter competitor Khalid Ahmed in Athens Olympic Games in 2004, and Rifle Shooter in Beijing Olympic Games 2008 Salman Zaman and in London Olympic Games 2012 Rifle Shooter Azza Alqasmi and in Olympic Games Rio de Janeiro Rifle Shooter Mahmood Haji and in Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Shotgun Shooter Maryam Hassani
