- Qatar Shooting Association was established on 31/07/1978 as a part of Qatar Armed Forces.
- QSA joined the Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC) on 16/12/1978.
- QSA joined the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) on 26/12/1978 .
- QSA joined the Arab Shooting Federation (ASF) on 24/03/1987.
- QSA joined the GCC shooting committee on 24/01/1995 .
- Under the presidency of Dr. Saif Ali Al-Hajiri Qatar Shooting Association was reformed and joined the other National Qatar Sports Federations on 01/10/ 1991
- Running Target shooting sport was introduced in the 97/98 season
- Archery sport was introduced and spread in 1998.
- Women shooting activities were introduced into the shooting Association on 06/12/2000.
- The Archery Shooting Sport Association was established in the year 2000 under the name Qatar Archery Association operating under the administration of Qatar Shooting Association .
- The Board of Directors of the Qatar Shooting Association has been reconstructed in Dec. 2000 under the presidency of H.H. Sk. Jassem Bin Hamad Bin Jassem Al-Thani.
- The Board of Directors of the Qatar Shooting & Archery Association was reconstituted in 17/02/2005 under the presidency of Mr. Mohammed Bin Ali Al-Ghanem.
- The Board of Directors of the Qatar Shooting & Archery Association was reconstituted in 2016 under the presidency of Mr. Ali Mohammed Al-Sheikh Al-Kuwari.
- The Board of Directors of the Qatar Shooting & Archery Association was reconstituted in 2021 under the presidency of Mr. Meshaal Ebrahim Al-Nasr.
